Simon Hollósy,
a Hungarian painter of Armenian descent, founder of the Nagybánya (Baia Mare) Artists' Colony.
He was born on February 2, 1857, and died on May 8, 1918, in Nagytécső, Transcarpathia, in the territory of Ukraine.
The artists' colony in Nagybánya (Baia Mare), the first modern Hungarian painting school, was founded in 1896 from the private school of Simon Hollósy (1857-1918) in Munich.
