Life:
He studied in Baia Mare in 1912, then between 1913 and 1915 he attended the Hungarian College of Fine Arts, where he was a student of Károly Ferenczy. He served on the Italian front during World War I and was captured in Italy in 1917. He returned home to Arad in 1919, then worked at the artists 'colony in Szolnok with Adolf Fényes, and in 1920 at the artists' colony in Kecskemét with Béla Iványi-Grünwald. Between 1920 and 1922 he went to Italy on a scholarship from the Romanian Ministry of Cult. He later lived and worked in Baia Mare for four decades. In the early 1920s, he wanted to create a rival artists' colony in Baia Sprie, near Baia Mare, so his colleagues were resentful of it. From 1922 he appeared in solo exhibitions with his works in Satu Mare, Oradea and Timisoara. His exhibition of oeuvres was held in 1993 in Cluj-Napoca and the Miskolc Gallery. His works are mostly figurative compositions (mainly mining themes), interiors, still lifes and landscapes of Baia Mare and Baia Sprie.
